THE WORLD wasn’t DESIGNED for our BRAINS.
Dr. Kati Peditto studies how the built environment shapes human cognition, mood, and health, and brings that research to stages and organizations across the world.

a question worth asking
I ran 2,000+ miles across the U.S. and it completely changed the course of my Cornell dissertation. When I visited pediatric hospitals across the country, I noticed young adults receiving cancer treatment in facilities designed for infants and little kids. Nobody had consulted a developmental psychologist. Nobody had asked what a 21-year-old actually needs from a space when their body is failing them.
That observation became a research question. The research question became my body of work.
I've spent the years since studying how the built environment affects human cognition, mood, and health across hospitals, schools, offices, and public spaces. The science is consistent but it's largely unknown outside academic literature. My job is to change that.
I consult on building projects, train design teams, and speak to corporate leaders, healthcare executives, HR professionals, and educators across the world. The audience changes. The reaction doesn't. Your people are never going to look at a room the same way again.
MORE ABOUT Kati
DESIGN is SCIENCE
After an hour with KATI, your audience wilL…
Understand why the room matters. Every space is running a mini-experiment on the people inside it. Audiences leave knowing the science behind what they've always felt but might not be able to name until now.
See their environments differently. From the ceiling height to window views, the built environment is full of decisions that were made without research. Audiences learn to see those decisions.
And leave ready to create high-performance environments. Move beyond "awareness" into evidence-based design psychology. No design experience needed - we’ll discuss strategies to make measurable improvements in focus, retention, and well-being anywhere.
Everyone can benefit from the power of design.
